USA: Wise Dan ancora Horse Of The Year per il secondo anno consecutivo. Battuto Mucho Macho Man..

Per il secondo anno consecutivo Wise Dan (Wiseman’s Ferry), homebred di Morton Fink, si è aggiudicato il titolo di Horse of the Year in America. Ma non è tutto, perchè il 7 anni da Wiseman's Ferry (Hennessy), al secondo titolo consecutivi e c'erano riusciti prima di lui solo Secretariat, Forego, Affirmed, Cigar e Curlin) è stato insignito anche del titolo di Champion Older Male e Champion Turf Horse, battendo Magician (Galileo), grazie alle 6 vittorie ottenute su 7 nella scorsa stagione incluso il Woodford Reserve Turf Classic G1, il Woodbine Mile G1 dominato a tempo di record e la Breeders’ Cup Mile G1. Per Wise Dan 208 voti favorevoli per il cavallo dell'anno, secondo è arrivato Mucho Macho Man (Macho Uno), vincitore del Classic G1 e rientrato in maniera sfavillante con una affermazione di 14 lunghezze nel Florida Sunshine Million Classic G1, con 21 voti e terzo il tre anni Will Take Charge (Unbridled’s Song) con 15 voti che però ha ottenuto il premio come miglior tre anni americano nei confronti di Orb e Palace Malice. Tra le femmine Royal Delta (Empire Maker) ha stravinto il titolo di Champion Older Female con 234 voti su Dank la quale ha ottenuto quello di Champion Turf Female. Da sottolineare che Kenneth e Sarah Ramsey sono stati votati ancora una volta come proprietari dell'anno e come allevatori dell'anno.
